Pete began cutting my hair in 2014 when I was 23 years old. I looked forward to seeing him every few months to get my hair cut. He would joke that he needs to stop giving me such good haircuts so I came in to see him more often or he was going to raise my price. His hair cuts lasted, and you could tell that he took pride in them. I loved his stories, and he loved listening to mine. Despite our age difference, Pete treated me with just as much respect as I treated him. He was one of a kind and I'm truly going to miss such a great person. Whether it be offering a cold beer, starting the hair cut off with a good joke, or spending 10 minutes showing him how to use his smart phone, I'll cherish all those memories! Thank you, Pete. So sorry to hear this. I met Pete back in "66-67" when I was getting my hair cut by his dad Ben. As years passed and Ben passed I started going to Pete. I always got compliments on my haircuts from friends and family when either of them cut my hair. Back in the 60's and 70's Benny would always do a razor cut, when Pete heard that one day he pulled out a straight razor and did the same. I thought that was so cool. Like the rest of you I'll miss him. I'm sorry I can't make it to the celebration as I'm on a cruise to Alaska.

Pete was the consummate barber, a perfect haircut whether it took half and hour or more than an hour, depending on his schedule. As those before have said, he was a man of many talents and could always back up the tales of his adventures with a salient fact that jibed with his previous renderings of the events. Though we talked of many things, he knew my love for music was always a subject to be exploited. Pete had since moved on from vinyl to cassette and then to CDs so he gave me his treasured jazz and blues LPs from the 60s and 70s. All in perfect condition, I have those recordings to remember Pete. My most lasting memory will be the visit he and Epi paid me to listen to those and other LPs in my listening room. Thanks, Pete, for 30 years of great conversation and first class barbering. -John Briehl

I met Pete back in 2013 when I was really in need of a good haircut. He is one of thee best barbers I've met and he always crafted an excellent haircut with great conversation. An active listener who always gave excellent commentary and an occasional joke. He will be missed and never forgotten.

Pete was a character. As you got to know him he would let you know about his past. His boxing days, time in the Army in south east Asia, early days as a new barber, and his love of music and shooting. What you noted was he liked "people". Interacting with his customers as he gave you a great haircut. Most importantly- family. Always first for him. Esperanza, always remember the good times and love you shared with your family. The Army transferred me to Ft. Lewis back in 1998, and I found him at his Bridgeport office with Dave, his second chair. He passed to quickly for all of us. Either, God needs a haircut or wanted to hear some jazz / blues Pete style. Thanks for the 20+ years. Love and respect- The Lonczak's
